Let’s face it folks, like they say, if you can remember it, you weren’t there.
I wish I could give you a minute to minute breakdown of all the awesome tracks, great DJs, hideous back tattoos, gallons of booze, poor late night behavior, swimming pool break ins, new friends made and old friends lost, but I cant. I just can’t. Tiny Bones and Emily Betty and I, ran fast and loose through the streets of Miami and places beyond, going to as many parties as possible while sleeping as little as possible.

My mind is still hazy and my ears are still ringing, and to be honest if it weren’t for one of the livest most fun crowds we had at WANTED last night I would have curled up in a ball behind the DJ booth and taken the ultimate disco nap. BUUUUT… I will try to piece together a top 5 list of what I can remember as being the most fun.

1. Obviously, NUMBER ONE is going to P. Diddy’s Mother Fucking After Party! Something I had thought was just a rumor was brought to life before my very eyes. There actually were topless chicks frolicking in the pool. There actually was endless amounts of Ciroc to pour into my face. Felix Da Housecat and Junior Sanchez took turns on the deck until Radio Slave went on as the sun came up. Diddy himself wandered the yard with a wireless mic and rapped over, OF MONTREAL!?! It’s all true! Emily Betty saw his Grammy’s through the window and they sparkled like the shiniest shit she ever saw. Tiny Bones gave substances to Annie Mac and may have made a friend for life.

And did I mention the Buffet?? At around 7:30AM Diddy snapped his fingers and tray after tray of breakfast food came out. I ate a waffle at 8AM at Diddys house and thought, “this is some wild ass shit!” Many thanks to masterminds of the good time Rory Phillips for bringing us along and Oli Isaacs for hooking shit up! We finally left at 11AM and collapsed into a taxi. Thanks Diddy, you are a gracious host.

2. Erol Alkan’s “disco” set at the Durr party. I danced my face off at this and I don’t remember much but the music was some of the best I have ever heard, and it wasn’t your crate digging soulful old school disco or this new pale faced nu disco. This was some banging ass, crazy percussive, future/retro wild shit! Everyone was going ape shit and the music sounded like it was coming from outer space, or the craziest minds of ’78 or the most insane robots of 2025. I may have lost a little piece of my mind there. Also I used the porta potties because I get wild like that. Aeroplane also played a really fun set.

3. Swimming at the Standard swimming pool at 7am with various friends. I can’t remember much except we got thrown out multiple times but got to stay somehow. Dave P became all of our dads, chastising us for being too loud and drinking from glass coronas in the pool, and the security guard straight up told us, “This ain’t no hot tub time machine”. Um, WTF? And I lost my underwear.

4. Dinner at Versailles restaurant in Little Havana. Emily Betty insists on going here as part of her week long birthday celebration, Tiny Bones and I relent ’cause the food is really good. (Vegetarians beware.)
Our batshit-crazy cab driver took us on a Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride tour of Miami highways, and we ended up at a table piled high with ropa vieja, arroz amarillo, little bullets of caffeine known as cortaditos. You can’t go to Miami and NOT eat Cuban food!

5. The closing Saturday night FIXED party. Big ups to NYC’s JDH & Dave P who without a doubt throw the sickest parties ever. Every single body in this club was dancing and it never seemed to stop. I know for a fact that we left this party and went to 4 other parties in between, but in the end we came back to FIXED and really cut loose and got our dance fiesta on. The sound was amazing and the lights were just freaking with my mind at this point. I had the true primal WMC experience where your body and mind just sort of let go and really THE MUSIC MOVES YOU. (it’s corny but it’s true)

There were a million other things, Anne Lee’s magic toilet, seeing Duck Sauce, hanging with Arthur Baker, disposable flasks (best invention of 2010), substances, stupid tweets, substances, dancing, Annie Mac’s set somewhere, running into the Trouble & Bass crew in broad-ass daylight and Lucas’ skin not peeling off, really awesome tacos, really bad sushi, wandering the streets as the sun comes up, and getting caught out in the rain. Thanks to everyone who was awesome!
